3 DON'Ts When Buying A Home

Wanting to buy a house - here are 3 things you want to avoid LIKE THE PLAGUE!

  1. Don't max out or overcharge your credit cards. The first thing lenders will look at is your debt to income ratio. What does that mean? Well, they look at what yyou earn each month, Then they look at how much you are spending on your cards each month. The higher the credit balance is  - the higher your debt to income (DTI) is. This looks BAD on your application.

     2. Don't make any major purchases. So no appliances, no furniture, and NO CARS!  This would increase your DTI massively and send a huge red flag           to your lender.

     3. Now this may surprise you but DON'T make any uncommon large payments in your account.  First off it looks like you are getting another loan               and that again messes with your DTI ratio. Just give your lender a call first and simply ask "If I do this...... would that cause me an issue during the             home buying process?"
